THE MOBILE 1000 REVOLUTION

Wockhardt Foundation’s Mobile 1000 programme has delivered free primary healthcare to more than 40 million patients over the past 12 years. A simple yet revolutionary initiative, executed on a large scale, it has brought free primary healthcare to village communities in selected districts across 21 Indian states.

THE PROBLEM

  •  Rural India still suffers from inadequate and inaccessible primary healthcare facilities.

  • Rural Health Centers are critically short of trained medical personal.

  • Preventable and curable diseases dominate the morbidity pattern.

  • 66 % of rural Indians do not have access to critical medicine.

  • 31 % of the population travels more than 30 kms seeking healthcare services.

THE SOLUTION

  • Mobile Medical Clinics are the best solution as recommended by the National Rural Health Mission.

  • The Mobile 1000 programme of Wockhardt Foundation delivers primary healthcare through the ADCR formula (Awareness; Diagnosis; Cure; Referral)

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • 49.20 million patients treated with free medical consultation and medicines since its inception in 2008.

  • As on date 200 Mobile Medical Clinics are operational.

  • Presence in 21 states of India.

TARGET IMPACT

  • 20,000 direct beneficiaries, per clinic, per annum
